This one-sided trend was probably a reaction against the religious philosophy of the time which had totally rejected all ritual and prayer . यह एक तरफा झुकाव संभवत : उस समय के धर्म दर्शन के विरूद्ध प्रतिक्रिया थी , जिसने सभी कर्मकांडो और प्रार्थनाओं का पूरी तरह बहिष्कार किया था .

But unless the development of the mind and body goes hand in hand with a corresponding awakening of the soul , the former alone would prove to be a poor lop-sided affair . किंतु जब तक मसऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-तिषऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-क और शरीर का विकास साथ साथ नहीं चलता और आतऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-मा जागृत नहीं होती तो केवल मसऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-तिषऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-क ओर शरीर का विकास कमजोर एक तरफा कार्य सिद्ध होगा .

We are fully conscious of the fact that the natural inclinations of individuals as well as groups are often one-sided and it is necessary , for the proper development of the individual or national character , to cultivate them with a proper combination of encouragement and restraint . हम इस तथ्य के प्रति पूरी तरह सचेत है कि अलग अलग व्यक़्तियों के साथ ही , समूह के लोगों के स्वाभाविक झुकाव एक तरफा होते हैं और व्यक़्तिगत या राष्ट्रीय चरित्र के समुचित विकास के लिए यह जरूरी भी है .

Mahatma Gandhi alone had the vision to see that the division of education at the earliest stage into intellectual , spiritual and vocational and the existence of separate institutions for these three types of education had led to the defective and one-sided development of our children . केवल महात्मा गांधी में यह देखने को दूर दृष्टि थी कि प्रांरभिक अवस्था , शिक्षा के बौद्धिक , आध्यात्मिक तथा व्यावसायिक विभाजन तथा ये ती प्रकार की शिक्षा के लिए अलग सस्थाओं के रहने से हमारे बच्चों के एक तरफा दोषपूर्ण विकास हुआ है .
